Google Destroys Guest Blogging- Make Sure Your SEO Company Knows What They're Doing

Yes, yes and yes. Guest blogging is a big no no so don't do it. Google is at it again, and this time they're waging war on guest blogging sites.

And that war is sending massive surges of panic to the SEO community and SEO companies alike, giving life to another mass link removal hysteria of epic proportions.

As it is, Google isn't only penalizing just the guest blogging website itself- but the links that appear on that website as well. Guest blogging sites allow authors or contributors to insert their signature at the end or in the content / article itself-

which has a link that points back to their website as a way to increase a website's back link profile (and as a credit for their work) and ultimately, their search engine ranking positions... (an important aspect of Google's algorithm for deciding how it ranks a website for any given search result by calculating the number of relevant back links pointing back to that website...)

Apparently, Google is only targeting low quality guest blogging websites and not the reputable ones- or the ones that it considers to be authority websites anyway.

But therein lies the problem- unless we're talking about real authority sites like iReport.cnn, it's anyone's guess which website is "reputable" and which isn't, and no one gets to decide that except for Google.

So what do you do to stay safe?

The best way to stay safe and avoid losing all of your traffic sources (if you completely disappear from the face of Google) is of course- not to solely rely on Google as the only way to get leads and traffic to your website.

Create diverse marketing channels that include using social sharing networks and sites such as Facebook, Pinterest and others as a way to drive traffic to your websites.

Also, learn how to build online comprehensive marketing funnels so that you can get the best out of the traffic that visits your website from your marketing efforts.

And it also helps to know a little bit more about your SEO agency or SEO company before you engage their services.

You want to ask them about their SEO strategy for your business and if the only strategy they have to offer you is a simple plan to spam the internet with links back to your website- then it's a good idea to forget about them.

Don't know what to look out?

Here's what a BAD SEO game plan (and spam link building practices) that will get your website in trouble might look like:

100 forum profiles
1000 articles
100 social bookmarks...etc..etc..

The truth is, you can get the above SEO game plan for just under 200 RM... if you know where to look.

Other things to look out when you're choosing your SEO company.

You want to work with agencies that have been in business at least for several years and a portfolio of happy and satisfied clients.
